Selkirk Recreation Complex is home to a variety of sport and recreation activities including: hockey, ringette, figure skating, speed skating, fitness classes, and special events.

On September 3, 2021, the Province has issued new Public Health Orders with specific requirements for arenas and recreation facilities.

14(1) Indoor sporting and recreational facilities, including dance schools and martial arts studios, must not operate unless admission of members of the public to the facility is restricted to the following:
a. persons who produce proof that they are fully immunized;

3(2) If these Orders permit a business of facility to open or operate subject to specified conditions or restrictions, the operator of this business or facility must ensure that the conditions or restrictions are complied with when the business or facility is open or operating.

As such, the City is now responsible for scanning QR codes and checking ID’s for all individuals entering its facilities. Due to this recent update, the City will be hiring attendants to monitor the main entrances of the Arenas, Halls, and the player entrance at the Recreation Centre, as bookings proceed. This is a temporary measure while the current COVID-19 Prevention Orders are in place.

As the health orders continue to evolve, the City will monitor the situation closely, and make changes as the health orders permit.
