These bins are a fresh twist on traditional recreation equipment lending programs, giving residents and visitors free access to a variety of gear and supplies to help you make the most of Selkirk’s parks year-round. Whether you want to go snowshoeing in the winter, play volleyball in the summer, or try something new with family and friends, our Exploration Bins make outdoor fun simple, accessible, and exciting for all ages .

How to Access the Equipment
- Read the program details
- Visit our Outdoor Recreation Exploration Bins page to review all guidelines.
- Fill out the online Request Form
- Complete the form below to get your unique access code.
- Receive your access code
- After submitting, wait for the “successful submission” notification—your code will appear there.
- You’ll also get the code by email (check your junk folder if it doesn’t arrive within a few minutes).
- Inspect the equipment
- Before use, check that items are in good condition and age-appropriate. Parents/guardians must ensure equipment is safe for children.
- Please note: The City of Selkirk is not responsible for the condition of the equipment.
Returning the Equipment
- Place all items back in the bin when you’re done.
- If you lock the bin early by mistake, you can reuse your code for that day (check your email if you forgot it).
- Securely lock the bin so it’s ready for the next person.
- Report any damage so we can repair or replace items quickly.
Important: Codes change frequently. You’ll need to fill out the request form each time you want to use the bins.
