Join us for fun-filled skating events, taking place throughout the 2026-2027 skating season!

Skating Events

Our skating events take place at the Selkirk Recreation Complex. Only skates and helmets are permitted during special event skating times, no sticks or pucks. Parents/guardians must supervise children under 12 years of age. Paid, scheduled time unless otherwise noted. Drop-in, no pre-registration required.

Skating Rules

For your safety, the following rules are in place during skating events:

  • Skating is at your own risk.
  • No nets, sticks, rings or pucks during public skating.
  • We reserve the right to limit the number of skaters on the ice at one time.
  • No food or drinks allowed on the ice.
  • Strollers, sleighs, hockey sticks and footwear (other than skates) are NOT allowed on the ice surface.
  • No throwing objects (elbow pad, gloves).
  • No piggyback skating (including parents carrying their child).
  • Penalty box, players’ benches are out of bounds.
  • No dangerous skating (i.e. tag, crack the whip, fast skating, weaving through traffic, backwards skating, spins or figure skating).
  • Do not use cell phones when skating. If you get a call please leave the ice surface.
  • Youth under 12 must be accompanied by a caregiver or parent.
  • A helmet is required by all participants under 18 years of age for public skating. It is strongly recommended that those 18 and older also wear a helmet.

Skate with Santa

He’s lacing his skates, checking ’em twice, Gonna get ready to glide on the ice! Santa Claus is SKATING to town! Celebrate the holidays with Ol’ Saint Nick at the Selkirk Recreation Complex. Plus we will have a photobooth set up for holiday family photos!

Date Night Valentine’s Skate

Join your partner for a Valentine’s themed skate. Enjoy dim lighting and romantic music while enjoying a skate with your partner.

  • Note: This event is 16+ only.

Glow Skate

Back again by popular demand – celebrate the end of the skating season with a Glow Party!

  • Date: Thursday, March 25, 2027
  • Time: 6:00-8:00 pm
  • Public skating admission rates apply.
  • Wear your best neon outfit! Prize awarded to the “best dressed”.
  • All ages welcome. Children under 12 require adult supervision.
  • Drop-in, no pre-registration required.
  • Please enter through the Player’s Entrance doors of the Selkirk Rec Complex.
Paint the Ice

Help transform the arena ice into a giant community painting canvas before the ice comes out for the season!

  • Date: DATE TO BE DETERMINDED (depending on playoffs)
  • Time: TBD
  • Free event
  • All ages welcome. Children under 12 require adult supervision.
  • All participants under the age of 18 require a helmet.
  • Drop-in, no pre-registration required.
  • No skates permitted.
  • Please enter through the Player’ Entrance doors of the Selkirk Rec Complex.
  • Note: Paint may stain clothes, skin, etc (but is considered washable). Please use at own risk. Gloves will be available for those that would like some.

2026 Rates

There is a fee to participate in public skating, stick & pucks and special skating events. Please note rates are subject to change January 1, 2027.

  • Prices include GST. Subject to change.
  • Resident: $2.00 per person
  • Non-resident: $3.00 per person
  • Children 3 and under: Free  
  • Skating Season Passes or Punch Card passes also available for purchase.
  • We accept cash, debit and credit card (Visa & Mastercard) as valid forms of payment at the arena.

We strongly encourage all participants to read our our Informed Consent Agreement and Refund Policy prior to participating in our programs.
