On July 1, 2027 celebrate Canada Day at the Selkirk Waterfront with live entertainment, a market, kids activities, and more. This free outdoor event is weather permitting. Bring a lawn chair and join the fun!

Is the area accessible?

The City of Selkirk strives to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. If you have questions, tips, concerns or require assistance, please contact us at 204-785-4900 or citizensupport@cityofselkirk.com.

Audience Services

An accessible porta potty will be available at each concert.

There is a wheelchair ramp leading down to the Waterfront from Eveline Street.

Is the event outside or inside?

Canada Day is outside at the Selkirk Waterfront.

What happens if it rains?

The City wants to remind everyone that events are never cancelled if it rains. If weather conditions are not suitable, we will post an announcement on the City website and on social media, relocating Canada Day events to the inside of the Selkirk Recreation Complex (180 Easton Drive).

Staff will be monitoring weather & wind conditions throughout the day to ensure the fireworks can safely be set-off.

If conditions are determined to be too dangerous, we will schedule them to be set off at a later date.

What time are Fireworks at?

Fireworks have been postponed to a later date due to weather.

Are there washrooms on site?

Yes, porta potties are on site and available to use.

Do I need a ticket to attend?

No ticket is needed to attend Canada Day.

Do you serve liquor/is the area licensed?

No liquor is served at Canada Day. The area is not licensed for alcohol.

Can I perform at Canada Day?

Thank you for your interest in performing! If you’d like to be considered for future events please fill out the Concert Series Entertainment Application Form.

Will photos or videos be taken at the event?

Yes. Photos and video may be taken during this event and used by the City of Selkirk for promotional, marketing, and communications purposes. By attending, you consent to the use of your image or likeness in future city publications, including on our website, social media channels, and other promotional materials.
