Happy Holidays from everyone at the City of Selkirk. Please see below for closures and changes to services throughout the holiday season. As always, most city services are accessible online.
Municipal Buildings
The Civic Office will be closed at 2pm on Thursday, December 18 for staff appreciation. Holiday closures following that are December 24, 25, 26, and January 1.
The Civic Office will be closed to the public on December 31 for year-end preparation, but staff will be working and available to assist through CitizenSupport.
Council
The regular meeting of Council scheduled for Monday, December 22, 2025, has been cancelled.
Christmas Tree Drop Off
The Christmas Tree disposal site will be open in the Kin Centre Parking Lot from December 26 to January 2.
Waste and Recycling
Recycling pick-up scheduled for December 25 and January 1 will be collected on December 27 and January 3, respectively. There are no other changes to recycling or garbage pickup. Garbage pick-up scheduled for December 24 and 26 will be picked up on those days.
Waste Transfer Station
The Waste Transfer Station will be closed December 25, 26, and January 1.
Selkirk Transit & Mobility
Selkirk Transit & Mobility will both be closed and not operating on December 25 and 26, and January 1.
City Programming
The Walk, Jog, & Roll Program will not run on December 24, 25, 26 and January 1. There will also be no Public Skating/Sticks & Pucks those days.
The After-School Program will not be running while the Lord Selkirk School Division is on winter break from December 20 to January 4.
The Kin Centre Youth Drop-In Zone will not run on December 26.
Selkirk Recreation Complex
The Selkirk Recreation Complex will be closed on December 24, 25, 26, and January 1.
