Public Notice Regarding Update to Potential Bear Sighting in Selkirk Park

Last week, a potential bear sighting was reported in Selkirk Park. Manitoba Conservation attended the area and set a trap, and no further sightings have been reported.

With no further sightings, all trails in Selkirk Park are now re-opened to the public.

Visitors are reminded to:

  • Stay alert and remain aware of their surroundings.
  • Keep pets on a leash at all times (except at the Selkirk Off-Leash Dog Park) for their safety and the safety of others.
  • Do not feed or approach any wildlife.
  • Properly dispose of garbage and food waste to avoid attracting animals.
