National Health & Fitness day is a globally acknowledged day that falls on the first Saturday of every June, which aims to help communities across Canada engage in physical activity of every kind! Since 2014, there are currently over 200 communities that recognize this national day by celebrating the empowerment of fitness by striving to make Canada ‘The Fittest Nation on Earth!’ Physical activity can be anything from going for a run, or walking your pet, to skipping rope in your front yard!

Come celebrate National Health & Fitness Day in our community by taking part in our National Health & Fitness Day Challenge on June 6, 2020. Whether you are just starting your fitness journey or already are a fitness guru, we invite you to join an outdoor walking route, build up a good sweat, and share your motivation with us by hash tagging #GetOutsideSelkirk!

Rules & Regulations:

  1. Individuals who choose to be involved in National Health & Fitness Day need to take a picture of themselves getting active somewhere in Selkirk.
  2. Then go the City of Selkirk Facebook page and post this picture and a short blurb in the comments of our “National Health & Fitness Day” Post.
  3. If participants are excising together, they must follow social distancing protocols to qualify.

And that’s it! Each day from June 1 – 5 we will choose a winner at random to take home some Selkirk Merch. Then June 6, National Health and Fitness Day, we will choose a grand prize winner who will take home a City of Selkirk Summer Package!
