Canadian Wrestling’s Elite is proud to announce it will return to Selkirk, Manitoba for the first time in nearly 8 years for a very special night of live professional wrestling for the whole family and the official retirement match of Selkirk’s own & Selkirk Wrestling Legend Matt Fairlane!

Matt Fairlane, also known to the City Of Selkirk as Matt Evans put Selkirk on the professional wrestling map nearly 30 years ago with the inception of the Selkirk based Body Slam Wrestling which became the first wrestling organization exclusive to the city and one that produced countless professional wrestlers directly from the City Of Selkirk.

Proudly representing his hometown, Fairlane went on to travel the country as a top level professional wrestler for multiple decades reaching the pinnacle by capturing the prestigious CWE Championship in 2012.

Last competing in a professional wrestling match in 2018, Fairlane quietly retired from the sport due to a serious career-ending back injury and turned his focus to bodybuilding and operating The Iron Image Barbell Club in Selkirk, transforming the lives of many.

Now for the first time in 8 years Matt Fairlane will train to step inside the squared circle one more time to receive the proper send off to an illustrious career and one that helped create careers for many others!

The event will take place at the historic Memorial Hall in what will be the first wrestling event in the venue in a little less than 15 years.

The Memorial Hall hosted years of professional wrestling in Selkirk from Body Slam Wrestling, Power Slam Wrestling, and most recently Steeltown Pro Wrestling.

CWE now proudly steps into the storied halls to add some history of our own!
