APPLICATION TO VOTE BY SEALED ENVELOPE (MAIL-IN BALLOT) CITY OF SELKIRK MUNICIPAL ELECTION OCTOBER 28, 2026

City of Selkirk Municipal Election, October 28, 2026

If you are a qualified voter in the City of Selkirk and cannot attend the regular polls on election day, October 28, or any of the Advance Polls on October 21, 22 or 23, you may vote by Sealed Envelope (Mail-in Ballot).

Beginning August 21, Voters should mail, email, fax or have delivered a request for application to 200 Eaton Avenue office (full address below).  

If applying by mail, email or fax: application intake between September 30 and October 23.

  • A ballot package will be mailed to you with instructions for voting. If your application is received after October 17, you may make arrangements to have the ballot delivered to you.

If applying in person: application intake between September 30, and October 21.

  • Please mark your ballot and return it promptly to ensure the deadline is met.
  • Ballots received after 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Oct. 28, will not be accepted.

To qualify to vote, you must be:

1.  A Canadian citizen

2.  18 years of age on or before election day, October 28, 2026

3.  A resident or owner of land in the City of Selkirk for at least six months on election day (prior to April 26, 2026).

*Important: If applying in writing, please enclose photocopies of ID (an official document issued by the federal, provincial, or municipal government that contains your name, address and photograph).

APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE Senior Election Official (S.E.O.) BY 4:30pm, OCTOBER 23, 2026
