A property that has sat vacant for nearly 30 years is set to become a new hub for business activity in Selkirk.
The City of Selkirk, GS Development Group, and community partners gathered today to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new commercial development at 287 Main Street. Once complete, the project will transform the former gas station site into a new commercial hub, bringing new opportunities for businesses, investment, and economic growth.

The project will revitalize a prominent Main Street property that has remained vacant for approximately three decades, creating new space for up to six commercial spaces to establish themselves and contribute to the local economy.
Six new businesses a result of population growth, location and a supportive business environment
Tim Feduniw, Director of Sustainable Economic Development for the City of Selkirk, said the development is a strong example of the momentum being seen throughout the community.
“Selkirk continues to attract investment because of its strategic location, growing population, and supportive business environment. Seeing a long-vacant property redeveloped into six occupied commercial spaces is exactly the type of growth we want to encourage. It’s exciting to watch dormant properties return to productive use and contribute to a stronger local economy,” Feduniw said.
Part of Selkirk’s momentum
The development is being led by GS Development Group.

“This development builds on the momentum that has been growing in Selkirk, including the opening of the new Clarity Vision building just across Main Street. We’ve seen similar investments in our downtown as well, with the arrival of new businesses like N’Joy Café and No Büz.
Construction just started, bringing new life to the long-vacant lot and adding to the continued investment taking place throughout Selkirk.
