Here is this week’s infrastructure update for current projects underway in the City of Selkirk.
🔹Main Street North Landscaping & Naturalization
The project continues to undergo scheduled weed management and watering as part of the naturalized landscape establishment.

🔹 200 Block of Taylor Avenue & 400 Block of Eveline Street
Land drainage work has been completed. Sidewalk installation on Eveline Street will be completed as of Monday, October 6th. Excavation for the new sidewalk on the south side of Taylor Avenue will start next week and will take about one and a half weeks to complete. Excavation for the roadwork on Eveline Street will begin next week as well. Road paving will follow, with the entire project anticipated to be completed by the end of October.
Please note that no parking will be permitted on Taylor Avenue between Main Street and Eveline Street until further notice.

| The City is upgrading underground infrastructure on the 200 block of Taylor Avenue and the 400 block of Eveline Street to make the street safer, more reliable, and more accessible for both motorists and pedestrians. On Taylor, a new sidewalk will be added to the south side, connecting to the city’s existing pathways and supporting active living. The new watermain will extend service life and improve service to the area, which has been prone to watermain breaks in recent years, while wastewater pipe renewal will improve service and reduce the risk of sewer failure. |
🔹 Mercy Street Bike Lane & Resurfacing
No change from last week – the Mercy Street bike lane asphalt is about 70% complete and should be fully completed within the next couple of weeks. The boulevards will be levelled and landscaping to follow.
If you are walking along the gravel base of the bike lane as it is now, please be mindful of the uneven surface. Asphalt work is anticipated to be completed within the next couple of weeks.

| The addition of this protected bike lane will allow cyclists to travel north/south safely from one end of Selkirk to another and will connect cyclists to Selkirk’s existing Active Transportation Network. The new road surface will create a safer, more accessible street surface and improve driving conditions while lessening strain on vehicles. |
