DESCRIPTION:STRENGTH IN NUMBERS\, SHATTER THE SILENCE \nJoin us in the streets of Selkirk to cry out against sexual violence\, assault\, harassment\, and for our MMIWG2S+ relatives. \nTake Back the Night is a global movement for change\, a call to action\, and an opportunity to BE VISIBLE\, BE HEARD\, and DEMAND SUPPORT for survivors of gender-based and sexual violence. \nRALLY STARTS: 7:30pm at the Selkirk Waterfront (corner of Eveline & Manitoba)\nOpening Prayer\, water ceremony\, light refreshments\, vigil lights\, emotional support present.\nWashrooms available at Gordon Howard Centre. \nTAKE TO THE STREETS AFTER DUSK: ~2km MARCH leaves the Waterfront\, winds through Selkirk\, & returns to the Waterfront. \nParticipants are asked to remain on sidewalks and utilize marked road crossings for safety. Marshalls will be wearing hi-vis vests & guiding participants. \nAnyone with questions or wishing to volunteer for the event is encouraged to e-mail: reachingout@survivors-hope.ca \n– \nThis event is not hosted by the City of Selkirk.
