Red swing set at Little Lake Park.

Little Lake Park is found at the east end of Dorchester Avenue. During the summer months, it is covered awash of green with well over 100 species of plants. Most of the land is in its natural state with trails and informal walkways, including interpretive signage that explains the area’s unique ecological features.

In 1991, Little Lake Park was established as a Province of Manitoba Ecological Significant Area. This unique oasis contains an excellent example of a riverbottom forest. Once common in Manitoba, many riverbottom forests have been cleared over the last century as farms, towns and cities sprung up along water ways. These forests are special places full of towering trees and a diverse understory.
